OUR VISION
Bringing the abundant life of Christ to individuals in a world that is lost and broken
We
Believe
The Bible is our statement of faith and practice. By presenting this brief summary of our faith we want to make it clear that we don't have any formal beliefs, articles of faith, or creeds apart from the Bible. This summary is not meant to be authoritative or comprehensive, but rather to help people understand what we believe. We hope you'll take a look at the following statements, which highlight the most important parts of our faith.
- That the Bible is God's inspired word and that it constitutes our sole rule of faith and practice. (See 2 Timothy
3:16)
- That there is one God, the Father, a personal, spiritual being, the creator of all things, omnipotent, omniscient,
and eternal; infinite in wisdom, holiness, justice, goodness, truth, and mercy;
unchangeable, and everywhere present by his representative, the Holy Spirit.
(See 1 Corinthians 8:6; Psalm 139:7)
- That Christ is the only begotten Son of
the Eternal Father and is not a created being. He is equal to the Father in
deity and divine perfection and is the one by whom God created all things, and
by whom they do consist. (See John 3:16; Philippians 2:6; Colossians 1:16, 17)
-
Though being fully God, Christ took
upon Himself the form of a man to live and die on Calvary as the atoning
sacrifice for the sins of men, and only through faith in His shed blood are men
saved from sin and its penalty. (See Romans 8:3; 1 John 2:2; Acts 26:18;
Ephesians 2:9)
- That that salvation is freely offered to all humanity and it is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, and not by our own good works or merit. It is a gift from God that cannot be earned or bought. (See John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8, 9)
-
That true faith in Christ is manifested
in loving obedience to God's commandments by the power of the indwelling
Christ. We are not saved by our works. But, because we are saved, we choose to
keep His commandments as the guide for successful living. (See John 14:15; Acts 5:32; Proverbs 29:18)
- That eternal life is only found in Christ, and outside of Him is no life. After death, we all go to the grave, which is often referred to as sheol in Hebrew and hades in Greek. It's a dark place where nothing happens, and there is no knowledge, wisdom, or work. We also believe that death is a lifeless state of complete silence, inactivity, and unconsciousness. (See Eccl. 9:10, Ps. 146:4, Eccl. 9:5-6, and Dan. 12:2.)
- That right now Christ is our
intercessory High Priest in the heavenly sanctuary, where He receives our
prayers and supplies believers with overcoming grace. (See Hebrews 8:1, 2)
-
That Bible prophecy reveals that we are living in the last days and that Jesus is coming again very soon. (See Matthew 24:32-51)
-
That our purpose is to be ready for the
second coming of Christ and to prepare others for this glorious and wonderful
event! (See Luke 12:40)
